Bridgestone Dueler D 840

Bridgestone Dueler D 840

The Bridgestone Dueler D840 is an all-season, highway terrain tyre designed for light trucks and SUVs. It is a popular original equipment tyre for light pickups, crossovers and SUVs including the Mitsubishi Pajero and Toyota Prado. It offers year-round traction and handling and is a very quiet set of tyres as compared to others in its class. Bridgestone's exclusive all-season tread compound combined with a computer optimised tread design gives the Dueler D840 a rounder casing profile making your ride a smooth and comfortable one overall. It is also built to last, with two steel belts and a polyester cord body that make it a sturdy, strong and durable tyre all around. Cornering stability - especially during high speeds - as well as enhanced braking and acceleration - is guaranteed by the tread's continuous centre rib and well-grooved shoulders. Safety is further enhanced by four circumferential grooves and even more added notched grooves around the tread. These grooves prevent hydroplaning and improve the Dueler D840's traction in wet conditions. The extra notched grooves provide some handling in light snow conditions - though sadly nothing more substantial since this is not a tyre made for heavy winter performance.

Why This Tyre?

Compare and Rate Your Tyre on its Treadwear, Traction, and Temperature

tyre-size

300 B A

•  300 Treadwear:
This grade represents the tyre's expected life/duration, ranging between 100 to 1000. Usually, the higher the treadwear rating, the longer the tyre life.

•  B Traction:
This grade represents the tyre's capability to stop on wet asphalt and pavement. Ratings are expressed in letter form, with AA being the highest and C as the lowest.

•  A Temperature:
This grade represents the tyre's heat resistance ability, with A as the highest and C as the lowest. Heat build-up causes the rubber to break down faster, which can cause blowouts. The higher the temperature rating, the longer the tyre life and the higher the speed rating.

The Bridgestone Dueler D 840 is an Asymmetrical Tyre

tyre-size

Asymmetrical tread patterns combine different tread types to deliver maximum wet and dry road grip via its inner and middle tread, while outside, larger and rigid tread blocks dominate the design to improve cornering.

To avoid fitting mistakes, asymmetrical tyres are labelled "outside" and "inside only" so you know if they will face your vehicle or out.
