Better grip that the OEM Pirellis. Less wheel spin with enthusiastic acceleration. A bit less noise. No change in comfort.

Great value tyres: too early to tell on wear (less than 1,000km so far), traction & response are outstanding in all conditions (as good as more expensive tyres, such as Michelins) while ride comfort and quietness are also much better than Michelin.

The GY Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 tyres have less NVH than the Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres they replaced. Moreover the car handles better. Very happy with the purchase.

Replaced the factory fitted Potenza's only due to age (11yrs old) after 63,000km. There were plenty more km's in the tread pattern. Replaced with Goodyear Eagle F1's after reading reviews, and being marginally cheaper then the Potenza's. So far I have found the ride and quietness to be exceptional. The tyres feel grippy, and have a deep grooved tread which I think will provide great traction in all conditions. It is too early to say whether I would rate them long term, but for the initial feel of the tyre on the car I like them.

I have Micheline pilot sport 4s on my Toyota Aurion but they were too expensive for my moms car so i decided to go with Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 for 2008 Lancer. this car had some dunlops which were like driving on butter when it rains. these good years had very good wet rating so i bought it. and its crazy how much grip these tyre had in the dry and specially in the wet. its like tyre dont even care if its wet they just hold on. i had to push the car so hard on corners in wet for it to even slip a little but even then it was very much controllable. i have a feeling that these have slightly better grip than michelin PS4s in the wet. just slightly.

Fitted a set of these tyres to my 2017 Ford Focus RS, in comparison to my previous set which were Michelin Pilot Cup 2 I rate these goodyear F1 asymetrical 5’s more because they are cheaper but offer almost as good daily performance. “NOT TALKING ABOUT TRACK”

Great tyre in both wet and dry. Grip and steering response both excellent. A touch noisier than the Michelin Pilot Super Sports I had, but these have a higher speed & load rating so understandable. Steering response awesome. For around $800, far cheaper than the Michelins and just as good.

Why This Tyre?

What's the Pros And Cons?

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 UTQG 300 AA A

Compare and Rate Your Tyre on its Treadwear, Traction, and Temperature

tyre-size

300 AA A

•  300 Treadwear:
This grade represents the tyre's expected life/duration, ranging between 100 to 1000. Usually, the higher the treadwear rating, the longer the tyre life.

•  AA Traction:
This grade represents the tyre's capability to stop on wet asphalt and pavement. Ratings are expressed in letter form, with AA being the highest and C as the lowest.

•  A Temperature:
This grade represents the tyre's heat resistance ability, with A as the highest and C as the lowest. Heat build-up causes the rubber to break down faster, which can cause blowouts. The higher the temperature rating, the longer the tyre life and the higher the speed rating.

The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 is an Asymmetrical Tyre

tyre-size

Asymmetrical tread patterns combine different tread types to deliver maximum wet and dry road grip via its inner and middle tread, while outside, larger and rigid tread blocks dominate the design to improve cornering.

To avoid fitting mistakes, asymmetrical tyres are labelled "outside" and "inside only" so you know if they will face your vehicle or out.
