All Mickey Thompson tyres are designed to be durable and long-lasting. MT Tyres are meant for rock, mud, sand, snow, gravel and all-terrain use, and must withstand the toughest of conditions. Each tyre features 3-ply construction that creates tough and reinforced sidewalls. Bumps and bruises are prevented and tread wear is slowed down. The tread compound itself is also strengthened by silica gel, so it stays cut and chip resistant.

Mickey Thompsons are known for stable handling thanks to performance-enhancing features built into each tyre. These features include advanced tread compounds, asymmetric tread patterns and bias-belted construction for increased strength and impact resistance. Advanced Tread Design

Mickey Thompson tyres are the perfect tyres for the harsh Australian terrain. Each tyre has deeper treads, making them last longer so you can confidently drive through mud, sharp rocks, sand, gravel, grit out in the bush. Strong sidewalls, another MT trademark, is achieved by adding 20 percent more rubber than other brands to the upper sidewalls of each tyre to resist damage. MT tyres also feature Sidebiters or tread placed down the sidewalls itself which helps protect the vehicle when offroading.

Reinforced Carcass

Every Mickey Thompson tyre has a reinforced carcass to ensure that it stays in shape and wont be damaged. While other tyre brands depend on standard tensile, Mickey Light Truck Carcass Construction is produced using super tensile steel belts and high tensile cords that make it more durable. MT engineers have also developed PowerPly, a third layer of tensile wire angled to minimise high-speed twisting and flexing, further increasing sidewall strength

Mickey Thompson Tyres uses advanced silica compound that bonds chemically with the rubber. Each tyre becomes flexible yet strong enough to resist cuts, chips and punctures. Together with the unique Mickey Thompson carcass construction, the compound allows the tyre to grip the driving surface more effectively, resulting in better handling. The tyres last longer too giving good mileage and saving money.

Mickey Thompson's son Danny followed in his father's footsteps and broke the land-speed record, clocking in 406.7 mph at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, slightly beating his father's record set in 1960. He won it driving the Challenger 2, a streamliner he built on the chassis of his dads 1968 race car using Mickey Thompson tyres.
